All Eyes on Llewellyn Hein

This 18- year old sprinter has come under our attention. We simply cannot pass this opportunity to share Llewellyn’s commendable athletic career on such a young age.

Growing up in a small Northern- Cape town, Keimoes, he had to fight for his chances to be noticed and compete with elite competitors. We had a chat with this as inpirational guy to learn more about him as a person.

A. I can still remember that I was in grade 4 when I discovered running. Sprinting stole my heart and still has it ever since.

Q. All athletes have favorite quotes they use as inspiration. What is the quote you live by?
A. “Success is not given, it’s earned on the track and in the gym. With blood, sweat and the occasional tear.”

Q. What has been your biggest, most memorable experience in your athletic career up until now?
A. This one is easy. I went to the World Championships and won my heat. Followed by a 6th place in the semi- final. I also won the ASA in 2013.

Q. You are currently in Grade 12. Any future plans?
A. I would love to study Sport Management at either Tuks or Kovsies.

Q. Do you have any goals that you are trying to reach?
A. Yes to finish school and to make my family proud because of all the support they give me.

Q. Are you still rooming with SA junior 1500m champ Andrico Williams?
A. Yes. We have know each other for very long now and we motivate each other a lot and it’s real fun sharing a room with him.

It is very important to surround yourself with positive people and people with more or less the same goals and aspirations as you.

We rest our case. Llewellyn Hein is certainly one to take note of. Eagles Club can’t wait to see what you make of your undeniable talent when soon he has to start running against the big guys like Akani SimbineSimon Magakwe and Roscoe Engel.
