Roscoe Engel - Engel to fly high

Roscoe Engel is certainly not new to the athletic community, but in 2015 his personal best’s (PB’s) may be.

Engel has been living in Cape Town all his life and says that he would not want to leave the Mother City. He matriculated at Milnerton High school and is currently running for Bellville Athletics Club (BAK). He says that he can’t be happier to have joined the family.

Engel focuses on the 100m and 200m with PB’s of 10.19s and 20.63s. “I do not favour one above the other, I just love sprinting and the powers involved therein”, Engel says.

Engel have been representing South Africa on the track since 2008 and competed at a number of international events including Southern Region Champs (2008), World Juniors Champs (2008), Zone VI Games (2008), Southern Region Champs (2011), World Senior Champs (2011), African Champs (2012).

“This season will be a better one than last year. Previous season I played soccer, cutting back on athletics which very few people knew.”

Engel is currently coaching at Bellville Club. He coaches athletes aging from sub youth up to 40s. He is an established coach since 2010 and often trains with his athletes. “I strive to help athlete’s and friends with fitness. I believe a fitter life is a healthier life.”

“I have had a full season of training so PB’s in my backyard is what I will run no doubt. The season will bring its blessings. I am a man of God and he will show me the way to fast times.”

We wish you all the best for the 2015 season and we know you will be successful in achieving your goals.
