Samantha Pretorius - Put my goals against my wall

She is fast! She is explosive! She is talented!

Everyone who did it will give you the fact that training for the Olympics on its own makes it a full time job and commitment. Your body, mind, and soul needs to be in it to make it!

Born and raised in the Mother City of Cape Town is were Samantha Pretorius grew up and still currently lives, and matriculated from High School Bellville. This is where she lives her own Dream and were the seed at age 10 was planted to go to the Olympics, any athlete’s ultimate dream!

Athletics has been part of Samantha’s live since she was 6 years old and she’s enjoyed it ever since . Samantha stays focused on her Dream and her Goals everyday to make it a reality and priority.

” I love what I do ,so it’s not that hard for me. I get excited to go to training and I love to compete! When I compete, I try to shut everything and everyone out around me, and just concentrate on myself to stay focused and get the results I want.”

Samantha is going to start her first year studies in Education foundation phase at Stellenbosch University. Her Goals for the year of 2015 is to compete at the Varsity Cup and to quality for the World Student Championships which is held in Gwangju South Korea. Her long term Goals is to compete at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio Brazil and also at Diamond Leagues.

Her PB in the 100m is 11.68sec (2014) and her Long jump PB stands at 6.44m (2011) which was in her Junior Year. Her top achievements for the last 4 years was African Junior Champion in long jump (2011 )and Under 23 South African Champion in 100m (2014)as well as long jump. And 2nd at Senior SA’s in the 100m (2014). Her training is also going very well at the moment moving into the right direction she says.

Being good at all kind of sports she was nominated as hockey player of the year 2006 just show how multi-talented and gifted this young lady is! Last but not least she plays piano when she has time to do it.
