Staying motivated for a long term goal is naturally difficult. I’ve experienced this throughout my athletic career, but my most recent struggle is with my studies.

I’ve started my honours degree this year and was very excited to get studying. I have a schedule to study every day after class to put in the hours. Unfortunately all that energy and motivation disappeared after day 2.

I realised that I needed to do something to get me studying again. Routine has always worked for me in my athletics, so why not for my studies as well.

Routine helps to get you on your way without really thinking about it. So set a fixed time to go train and force yourself the first few days if you are demotivated. As soon as you get in your routine, it will go a lot easier.
