The Zurich Diamond League Final ends on a high with 3 SA athletes finishing on podium positions with Long Jumpers taking the top 2 spots!

Caster Semenya was the first of the podium finisher in the 800m with a solid victory where she clocked 1:55.84. Next in the podium finishes for SA was Luvo Manyonga who like Semenya added to his undefeated streak in 2017 when he leaped to victory in 8.49m! Ruswahl Samaai followed behind Manyonga claiming the 2nd spot in the Long Jump in a distance of 8.31m!

The above were the best of the SA performances on a mixed evening in Zurich which wasn’t assisted by cold and wet conditions.

Wenda Nel finished 6th in the 400m Hurdles for women in a time of 55.86.
LJ van Zyl finished 7th in the 400m Hurldes for men in 49.92.
Akani Simbine finished 6th in the 100m in a time of 10.10.
Pieter Conradie finished in 7th in the 400m in a time of 46.45.
Khotso Mokoena finished 9th in the Long Jump with a distance of 7.13m
