MENLO VIRTUAL SCHOOLS ATHLETICS – PRINCIPLE

  1. WHAT IS THE VSA EVENT

The Menlo VSA is a Virtual Track & Field schools’ event which is held in accordance to the limitations as permitted by our government lockdown procedures. The goal of the VSA is to create a safe yet competitive event for athletes willing to participate in the sport of Track & Field, whilst at home. The event is based on a time or distance trial principle. Like the trials during training.

Due to the lack of Sport participation opportunities during the 2020 COVID -19 Pandemic, we believe, we can host a digital solution which will encourage safe participation.

The host of the event is Hoerskool Menlopark, in partnership with BackTrack Sports, a digital media company specializing in Athletics. It is important to note the event is an individual participation event and results will be categorized into age groups and into participating schools digitally.
